I have worked for Apricot since 2018 and am Head of English& Humanities. I teach English, RS, and PSHE. I have been teaching for 24 years and have taught in mainstreams, private schools, environmental centres, and alternative provisions. The best thing about working for Apricot is meeting and getting to know the amazing students we have. I am privileged in being able to support their educational journey through interactive and personalised lessons. Teaching 1:1 or in small groups gives us the opportunity to get to know students really well and offer them a friendly, positive, and safe teaching environment. Seeing students succeed, who have previously found education challenging, is the most rewarding experience and is why I love teaching at Apricot. It offers a new way of learning and a new way of achieving for so many students.
Outside of teaching, I have 2 children in secondary school, two dogs – one quite naughty and a cat! I live in a rural setting and enjoy walking the dogs in the fields that surround us in an attempt to tire the naughty dog out! I enjoy reading and am currently spending lots of time at the weekends doing up my new house.
