I have been an English Teacher in mainstream secondary schools for 15 years and, whilst I have loved my time spent teaching in a classroom setting, working closely with students was the part I found most rewarding. I thoroughly enjoy creating learning that is centred around the student and their individual needs – whether this is 1:1 or in small groups – the work is personalised, friendly, and positive. There is such an immense feeling of achievement when one of my students reaches their highest potential.
One of the main reasons for wanting to transition to online learning, and to work for Apricot, is their attention to individual students and their own requirements. I am passionate about students enjoying their education and this new way of learning clearly encourages positive results.
Outside of teaching I am a busy mum of one, and have a very energetic and naughty dog – who requires more attention than we could have ever known. I enjoy reading, shopping, and walks out in the countryside. Most of my family live in Spain, where you will mainly find me eating tapas and dancing the flamenco, at least twice a year.
