Teacher

Hi, I’m Vicky.  I’m new to Apricot but not to teaching, as I’ve been a teacher for over 20years!  I’ve always loved working with children and making learning enjoyable in many different ways; the most memorable being setting off the fire alarm when I used a computer simulation and a smoke machine to re-enact the eruption of Vesuvius and destruction of Pompeii (whoops!).

I'm really looking forward to the next stage of my journey with Apricot, whose child centred approach to providing 1:1 and small group education outside the traditional classroom environment is needed now more than ever.  My experience of witnessing the requirement for this has led me here.  I hope to help fulfil this need supporting each student to take the next step on their learning journey by tailoring the learning to them.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy getting outdoors, especially if it involves kayaking, going for a walk in the dales, or wild swimming.  I swam in ice this year. I’m not sure I’ll do that again though!
